
The 14th Female Eye Film Festival , which ran from June 14-19, 2016 in Toronto, was a another success. So many talented film directors, so little time. Awards were handed out to the best films, the top awards went to:

Best Debut Feature: The Tribe by director Roxy Shi
Best Debut Filmmaker: The Boy Who Cried Fish by director Dalia Ali
Best Debut Documentary Filmmaker: As She Is (check out our review) by director Megan McFeely
Best Short Documentary: Threads by director Cathy Stevulak
Best Foreign Documentary: Following Kina by director Sonia Goldenberg
Best Canadian Documentary: Bearded Ladies – The Photography of Rosamond Norbury by director Sharon McGowan
Best Short Film: The Aquarium by director Jacobie Gray
Best Animation: Tasting the Moon by director Dawn Chan
Audience Choice Award: My One Square Inch of Alaska written by Sharon Short.
