TIFF Short Cuts Programme 01 will feature six short films, less than 50 minutes long. The characters in all the films try to make complex decisions and navigate complex situations, where the future outcome is unknown. Biidaban (The Dawn Comes) stands out because of it’s a stop motion sci-fi, where the characters don’t speak. Biidaban is a modern day Anishinaabe who is literally battling to keep her traditions alive in a modern urban society.
The six shorts will be screened tomorrow Thursday September 13 at 6pm, tickets are available at Tiff.net.
